Please, Please! Why do you do that?

Not everything I listen to is Christian rock. But EVERYTHING I listen to is good clean music. I check the words before I buy a song or put it into a listening list. I am careful...

At least with the songs.

A while ago, an Aussie online that suggested I listen to Tonight Alive. Although not overtly Christian in any way, they are a band from down under and he said that they have won a bunch of awards including one that is like an endorsement from a parent group for being clean and good.

And their music is. Great messages, clean lyrics, much better than what is on the radio. I like it. A lot. In fact, they quickly became a favorite in my ears (and head).

Then, cause, you know, I like to see if bands sound the same live as they do in recordings, I listed to a concert that was on Aussie TV a couple of years ago. They sounded great. Amazing even. Then she said it. Right between two songs. She dropped it like it was nothing. and I about ripped my ears off. I love their music, hate that word. What do I do now?

I talked with a friend who understands my addiction to music. He said, "you have to make a choice. Yesterday you thought they were great based upon the criteria you have created about music. Not about them as people. You are trying to be careful, I get it. But, how far down that rabbit hole are you gonna go? If they don't live exactly perfect are you going to reject them?"

He said one other thing too... "Stop looking for more than just the song or music. You are always going to find much more that you don't like, than you do."

So, I am keeping to the music. At least, I can make a judgement about it that I can live with. And, not just because I need it... like oxygen
